The purpose of a trailer is to use effective techniques to draw the audiences attention and wants them to watch the soap. Trailers may introduce characters and plots and give examples of whats to come in the soap. The trailer should also make it clear when the soap will be available to watch and how often on which channel. It should raise issues and make the audience curious and ask questions that the answers can only be established by watching the soap meaning that the trailer shouldn't give too much away about the soap to make sure that the audience are still definitly going to watch to satisfy their curiousity.
